About the World Series of Golf
Est. 2005 • Reimagined for 2026
Our Story
The World Series of Golf was established in 2005 as an exclusive tournament series bringing together passionate golfers for competitive play across premium courses.
After a hiatus, the tournament was reimagined for 2026 with a fresh format focused on the Tour Cup Challenge—a season-long championship played across 9 unique courses. The series combines competitive excellence with camaraderie, testing players through carefully selected signature holes that demand skill, strategy, and consistency.
The Tour Cup Challenge
Compete for the prestigious Tour Cup by mastering 18 carefully selected signature holes across the 9 rounds.
Each round features 2 signature holes that test different aspects of your game. Your performance on these 18 holes determines the Tour Cup champion—the player with the lowest total net score across all signature holes.
Championship Layout
- 4 Par 3's - Test your precision and iron play
- 10 Par 4's - Balance strategy with execution
- 4 Par 5's - Reward power and course management
Total: 18 Signature Holes across 9 Rounds
Championship Format
The Format
- 9 rounds played throughout the season (typically every 3rd Tuesday)
- 2 signature "Jackpot Holes" per round (18 total)
- Strictly medal play - No mulligans, play until ball is in the hole
- Net scoring - Gross score minus course-adjusted handicap
- Tour Cup winner determined by lowest total net score across all 18 signature holes
These holes demand commitment, punish hesitation, and remember every bad swing.
One Lifeline
All players are given one lifeline to replay a missed course on a designated reserve date.
Use it wisely. You only get one—much like that heroic line you definitely shouldn't take.
Handicaps & Competitive Balance
All jackpot holes are played off the white tees.
How It Works
- An Official Handicap is required!
- Players with no Handicap will play from scratch (0)
- Signature holes will be played at the player's handicap on the day
- Strictly medal! Play until ball in the hole
- Each of the net medal scores will be used in the calculation of the signature course score
- Best total net score wins the Champions Trophy
This ensures:
- Skill is rewarded
- Blow-ups still matter
- Nobody wins by simply "not messing up" or quietly grinding out pars
This remains a test of golf, not creative mathematics, selective memory, or emotional appeals to the committee.
The Field
Entry is strictly limited.
This event is for:
- Credible players
- Serious competitors
- Golfers whose games hold up without disclaimers
If your best round requires "winter rules" and selective memory, we wish you well—elsewhere.
